Cozyna 41 Ounce Glass Teapot W/ Infuser

Teapot

So sleek, so modern.

Cost At the Time of Writing the Review: $26.90

I’m a coffee guy, but I’m currently trying to become a tea guy. My girlfriend is a tea girl. She’s convinced me that tea is better for my heart and health, generally speaking. I argue that it’s not dark enough or sludgy enough to get me going in the morning. So, we compromise. I get coffee in the morning, and she convinces me to drink tea the rest of the time to quote “keep me alive.” This teapot from Cozyna was part of that goal to stay above ground.

Yum, Goji Berry tea. It’s all steamy.

There’s a number of things I like about this teapot. It’s got a simple, sleek design to it. There are no frills in its manufacture. It’s a 41 ounce glass teapot, which is a great size for about three decent sized cups of tea, with a stainless steel lid, infuser, and insert piece that the infuser sits into. That’s it. Makes for easy clean-up, and I like things to be as easy as possible.

I like that it’s compact, because any time I can save space on a counter or in a cupboard, I do so. Also, and this is probably a big one, it makes a pretty good pot of tea. The stainless steel doesn’t affect the flavor, and the infuser allows the tea to stay in one spot while the water around it gets…infused.

A peek inside. You can see the infuser handle, and bags of tea.

However, there are also some things I don’t like. The glass of the teapot is very thin, which can be perceived as delicate or breakable, depending on your outlook on life. To me, a notorious klutz, it’s breakable and scary. Also, because of the thinness of the glass, the teapot is neither stove top nor microwave safe. If you’ve ever made tea before, you know you need hot water to do it. If you can’t heat the water up in this teapot, you need something extra to heat up the water...like a teapot.

Yes, I used a teapot to heat up water to put into my teapot.

That right there is my biggest issue with the teapot. It’s unnecessary. It’s cute, but irrelevant.

The handle makes it easy to lift out the infuser.

Also, that stainless steel lid is a problem. After I made tea in the pot, I burnt my finger going to pour the tea into a cup by holding the lid in place. That’s a pretty common move as far as tea pouring is concerned. The lid was so hot from the steam inside the pot that it burnt me. That’s a design flaw.

So, there you have it. It makes good tea and it’s cute, but ultimately it’s pointless and dangerous. I don’t think it’s worth nearly thirty dollars for those reasons.

I received this item discounted for purpose of review.
